The 2026 Board Candidates

Mark Bluver

Why do you wish to serve on the Board?

To help guide the Co-op as it moves into an exciting new phase in the greater Greenfield community. In the 50 years I’ve lived in Franklin County, I have seen and experienced the value of the Co-op and its importance in the lives of all our citizens. It would be an honor to devote my time to help shepherd the Co-op towards the future in an inclusionary way.

KC Ceccarossi

Why do you wish to serve on the Board?

When I moved to the valley from Boston a decade ago, I chose Greenfield very intentionally because of Green Field’s Market. Its size and presence within a Main Street landscape in a socio-economically complex town, its scrappy but steadfast energy and its notable and enduring commitment to local ag/producers and organic practices, among other things, have always impressed me.

Since then the co-op has been a critical third space for my family, a regular resource we rely on (sometimes almost daily) and an expression of the character that has defined our lives here.

The town has changed a lot since I moved back. More young families have arrived from metropolitan areas. Main Street has had a lot of turnover. We got a new library and a Starbucks. The town leadership has changed. The tension between old and new feels more present now than it did when I arrived. But in many ways, a lot about Greenfield has stayed the same. It remains an economically challenged community, even with the influx of new and more money, and like its promise to grow into something more robust and welcoming has been stuck on pause.

I want to return to the co-op board for the same reason I joined it years ago: because I care deeply about this co-op and this community. I believe Green Field’s expansion will help get that promise of growth unstuck. The co-op’s ongoing viability is going to influence the shape of this town and county forever.

I said this in my original application and it is worth saying again: Often people in my particular season of life (parenting young children) take a step out of civic work because time is stretched, but as our population slowly shifts with more families like ours making a home here, I feel an obligation to support the people and places that make Franklin County the place we’ve all chosen to call home.

FCC board member Jonathan Daen

Jonathan Daen

Why do you wish to serve on the Board?

I have lived in Greenfield since 1985 and been a long-time customer and member of the Coop. I joined the board in 2021 and have now served for five years as Treasurer of the Coop and head of the Finance Committee.

I have enjoyed this work and believe that my skills have allowed me to contribute to the board and Coop’s work. Running for re-election allows me to continue to provide my energy and skills as the Coop moves forward with the expansion project and many other important decisions in the next few years.

Cathy Neal

Why do you wish to serve on the Board?

We relocated to Shelburne 18 months ago and joined FFC even before actually moving in. Becoming a member of a local food co-op was a priority especially given my commitment to and experience with food co-ops and other local food initiatives. I’d always anticipated taking a meaningful role. With the upcoming expansion and relocation, I believe this is the right time to actively contribute my knowledge and skills to the future of our co-op.

George Touloumtzis

Why do you wish to serve on the Board?

I view the experience, skills & knowledge I have accumulated during my two periods of service on the Board (2014-22 & 2023-present)- enhanced by attending nine national conferences, numerous regional meetings, plus voluminous reading – as an asset that belongs to the co-op. In addition, it’s been particularly gratifying to serve during this exciting & challenging period of Green Fields Market’s expansion/relocation, a process in which I’m hoping to stay actively involved. I have also served on the Board of the regional Neighboring Food Co-op Association (of which FCC is a founding member) for the past two years, and re-election to the FCC Board would allow me to continue to extend my service in that role (as the only Massachusetts representative). And as always – with my relentless focus on membership engagement – it would be an honor to keep striving to responsively and effectively represent my fellow member-owners.
