In the first half of the last century, between 1930 and 1950, Benlee was a big name. Famous boxers struggled with this: "Bomber Brown" Joe Louis, "Jersey" Joe Walcott and Rocky Marciano, three heavyweight champions one after another, all standing them in the ring with Benlee boxing gloves and BenLee sports pants. Other champions such as Jake "The Raging Bull" La Motta, "Sugar" Ray Robinson and Floyd Patterson also wore Benlee. Benlee began producing boxing equipment in the 30s, but retired from business in the 60s. Punch GmbH wants to revive the tradition and in memory of Rocky Marciano, the best boxer of all time, deceased in 1969, it has attached its name to "his" brand: BenleeRockyMarciano.
