As directed by the Franklin Community Co-op Ends Policy to “strengthen the social fabric of our community” and according to the cooperative values of equality, equity and solidarity, the board affirms the following statement:Franklin Community Co-op — through introspection by and education with its member-owners, board, and staff — strives to become a fully inclusive, anti-racist, multicultural organization. To this end, we align ourselves with the work of existing anti-racist, multicultural organizations and seek their guidance to move toward meaningful change for the whole community.
We referenced the Continuum on Becoming an Anti-Racist Multicultural Organization as a helpful framework (http://www.aesa.us/ conferences/2013_ac_ presentations/Continuum_ AntiRacist.pdf).
As our efforts in this arena of important work continue and grow, we invite our membership and our community to work with us to support both this statement, and the development of plans of action that will further these stated ends. Currently, we are building a list of community organizations who could benefit from the support of our member-work program. Have an org in mind?
